Process approach: Optima Battery was gearing up to increase their paper winder size 20 to 36 inches in Diameter and only had 2 weeks before the new rolls had to be in production. The problem was the new rolls was personnel could not be lift the heavier rolls. Optima asked NECO to design a system that was simple to use and met their short turn around time. We approached the project by first visiting the site and coming up with a couple of concepts. Once we agreed on the approach, NECO engineered an apparatus that met the goals of the project. The complete design ready for manufacturing took only 3 days to turn around with complete drawings and a purchase parts list.
